Who doesn't love a good brunch? If you're ever in Studio City, CA, Firefly is a must try!
It was our first time into Firefly, and we loved it. We were seated in the outdoor area that looked to be like it was an old greenhouse. It was a beautiful day outside so the sun shining through was beautiful and perfect for a Sunday brunch (and great photos too ;) )
Cute little breakfast snacks were in the middle of the table, accompanied by small strawberry smoothie shots when we arrived.
We ordered the Sira CHA CHA Mary to start off, because what would a brunch be without a fun drink to enjoy the food with? This drink definitely had a CHA CHA too it. The flavor of Sriracha lingered in the back of the throat for quite some time. It was nice and spicayyy. Kelsey (my blonde eating buddy for the day) and I would recommend this drink if you like hot sauce.
Hamachi was the first to make an appearance on our table. It had smoked hon shimeji mushroom, hearts of palm, and yuzu kosho. It was so delicious and a great appetizer to start off the meal.
Next we had the avocado toast. We thought it looked a little bland when it came out but gosh were we wrong. I think it's safe to say it might have been some of the best avocado toast we've ever had. My ultimate avocado toast would have a poached egg on it, but this particular dish didn't need it. The toast was made with a citrus and chili flakes. Yes, that's it, and it was just amazing.
This lobster scramble. OH MY GOSH. Now this is the ultimate brunch meal! Scrambled eggs with lobster meat, truffle butter, tarragon and caviar. I think this was one of our favorite dishes of the day.
I finished my Bloody Mary so it was time for a new cocktail. I went with the Sunday Morning... clearly perfect since it was a Sunday Brunch. It was made with champagne, rum, lemon, and chai-spiced apple cider. It was very refreshing.
Following the lobster, we were served another meal from the sea. This one was a Steelhead Salmon with local beets, endive and a large glob of lemon creme fresh. I'm not a big salmon lover, but it didn't disappoint.
Then came what should always be included in a brunch... FRENCH TOAST. This Thick Cut Brioche French Toast was so fluffy and delicious, served with vanilla whipped cream, brandy roasted apples and spiced maple syrup.
Last but not least, a juicy Wagyu Burger with bacon onion marmalade and forme d'ambers. The burger tasted like it had bleu cheese on it, which I'm not a huge fan of, but all in all, it was very tasty.
Thank you Sabrina & Henry from Platform Media Group for inviting us and Firefly for having us. We cannot wait to come back and give dinner a try.
