Cooking with a "real" Prince at the Prince of Venice Food Truck

I had the pleasure of having a one-on-one cooking session with Italian Prince Emanuele Filiberto di Savoia and Head Chef Alberto Bertoncin of the Prince of Venice Food Truck.

I've had my fare share of eating food from all sorts of Food Trucks, however, this was my first time getting the opportunity to cook on a food truck, let alone even step foot on one lol

We started the cooking session with a Truffle Pasta called Tartufo. By "we", I mean "I". I was handed the pan and Emanuele said, ok have fun!! HAH. Knowing me, I would probably burn the food truck down. Thank gosh Chef Alberto was willing to help me make a delicious pasta.

First, we started off with Truffle butter (a whole large spoonful of it, yum). Then, we chose our pasta. The pasta is all fresh and HANDMADE right on the food truck by Chef Alberto ( you can watch all types of pastas being made right outside the truck ). The pasta then goes into the cooker for about 2 minutes. Meanwhile, we added more ingredients into the pan with the truffle butter, where I also got to shave truffles on top. The truffles are supplied by the Truffle Brothers, and come all the way from Italy. Emanuele kept reminding me how expensive these truffles were, so I tried to be extra careful, even though I wanted to put the whole thing in the pan. I mixed everything around and Chef Alberto attempted to show me how to flick my wrist to make sure all the noodles were covered by the sauce..... sad to say I failed at that attempt. More truffle was shaved onto the pasta, then put into their serving dish, where MORE truffle was shaved on top. Talk about being in truffle heaven, because I sure was.

Who doesn't love truffles? This pasta was seriously out of this world and I swear the truffles really just made the dish. This is a pasta you definitely WANT and NEED to try.

Next I got to make their famous bolognese. The sauce was already prepared because it takes about 6 hours to get everything just right. That sure is a lot of time and love going into the sauce! The meat is 100% ground beef mixed with roasted vegetables and red wine. We picked the noodles, put the prepared sauce in the pan to warm it up and put the two together. This dish was amazing!!

Big thanks to Emanuele and Chef Alberto for letting pretend to be a chef for the day on the Prince of Venice Food Truck.

Find out where their truck is HERE. Everything is made with love and is definitely a must try. Hurry and go find the truck!!

** Stay tuned for videos of me cooking with Emanuele & Chef Alberto **
